Alphabet Soup

I just got these AWESOME antique brass letters! I have spent maybe too much time seeing what I can spell. I kept a handful for myself, and the rest I left for you! It was hard, I wanted to keep them all :) It would be so neat to hang your families initials on a table top Christmas tree, tie them to packages, sit them on a shelf, the possibilities are endless.
Have fun with them!

Edited- will not be open, Special Shopping Day Thursday!

I'm sorry, but I will have to change my plans for the day. I will not be open, but will be available, so if you would like to come by, just give me a ring at 402-310-7355. Have a great day!

Some more great sale items!

There are some great items in the shop that are now on sale. Here are just a few of them...

Windsor Bench was $175 now $125

Possum Belly, has 2 bread boards & a great primitive look.

was $225 now $185

Little Green Table, SUPER cute!

was $85 now $45!

Stop in and see the rest! There are A LOT of things on sale, gearing up for the Christmas Gathering! The store will be completely revamped!

Firkin Fun

I love firkins, but I don't seem to have a lot of them at once. I like to make stacks, but when I only have one or two in the shop, I get creative. I often mix firkins with cheese boxes. They stack wonderfully and are an affordable alternative. Here I stacked a cheese box, firkin, and a berry tote.

Great Prim Cabinet

I really LOVE this cabinet. It is darling from the outside with a tin mustard door, and when you open it, it does not disappoint! I thought it may be a dye cabinet, but the drawers threw me. Another dealer I showed it to thought it could have been a railroad cabinet of some sort. Whatever it is, it is fabulous! I think it would be the perfect storage for scrapbookers, sewers, office supplies, or even a great little side table by a chair. It really is perfect.

The prim dolls are completely handmade by a folk artist out of Nebraska City, Paula Conner. They are so prim and wonderful. They are also available at my shop. Paula makes such great things, I can't wait to get her Christmas and Winter goods in for the Christmas Gathering on November 19th and 20th!

Christmas Gathering Sneak Peek

I have been busy today preparing for the upcoming Christmas Gathering. I also placed a large order for more yummy candles, tarts, potpourri, bowl fillers, and room sprays. I even added two new scents and votives! These pictures really are just a sneak peek, there is so much fun Christmas and Winter decor. So mark your calendars for November 19th and 20th. (Invites will go out in about a week) I can't wait to see all of you, it is going to be so much fun!
Mercury Glass Santa (he can also be used as a tree topper) & wreath ornaments.

HUGE sugar cones, they are fabulous!

Proof that I have boxes full waiting to be unpacked!

One of my favorite things in the shop...

is this pine bin. It is so versatile. It would be great for firewood, a hamper, or even to hide the trash can. It is at the shop now, and I just love it!

I also just love these garden stakes. Of course they are great in the summer time for your garden or potted plants, but just think of the possibilities. Wouldn't they be wonderful to light the snow lined walkway to your front door, or stuck in a large pot with a cedar tree by the front door? I love them year round!

Thanks for a Great Harvest Gathering

Well, Nelly's Nest first Harvest Gathering was a complete success. Thank you to all my vendors that participated. The work was well worth it, and I can not wait for Spring when I do it all again! That's right, I am planning on doing two vendor shows a year. The next one will take place in the Spring. We had some wonderful vendors that brought fantastic things. One of the most popular items was the concrete pumpkins handcrafted by Annette Morgan of Green Horse Company. Local folk artist, Paula Conner, also brought some fantastic hand mades. Her hand mades are always available in the shop, but it was a special treat to have her join us. We had vendors from Lincoln, Ceresco, Beatrice, Nebraska City, Wahoo, Grand Island, and Mound City, MO. Such a great bunch of people! I hope you enjoy the photos of the show.

Beverly Hillbilly

Yesterday I visited one of my favorite places, Howie's. I came home with this truckload. This picture is proof that Howie has truly earned his nickname, The Master Roper! All of this will be in the shop today, with the exception of an amazing apothecary cabinet and pegged top table. Both have found a cozy spot in my house :) I will post pictures of them soon.

For the shop I picked up a cute little green what not shelf (that's it on the top of the pile). I am going to attach a wainscoting back to it. I also got lots of neat drawers, a wire basket, a couple awesome gentlemen's drawers off a dresser, a harvest table (in pieces), and breadboards. I am so excited about these great finds!

More Candles

I have been running pretty low on candles, but I got more in. I even got some yummy new scents that we haven't had before. I also got some fresh batches of rosehips. The rosehips are $12/bag.
The candles prices are:
minis-$8.00
Quarts-
1 for $13.00
2 for $22.00
3 for $30.00
Large- $24.00

The minis last for about 100 hours, the quarts for at least 200 hours, and the large jars are about 300 hours. They burn right down to the very bottom!

Great Big Bin

Just thought I would post a better picture of the bin I keep talking about.

Real Redware

I have started to carry a few pieces of "real" redware. I say real because it is made by folk artists here in the good old US of A. I have some Ned Foltz, Wisconsin Pottery, as well as a few antique pieces. Come check it out. Make sure to check out the bottoms of the Wisconsin Pottery, sometimes if you get lucky, the artist will leave a special treat :) I also have a catalouge of additional items available from Wisconsin Pottery. You can order simple slip designs, as well as fancy slip and sgraffito.
You can preview some of the Wisconsin Pottery available for order HERE

Restocked & Rearranged

I promised a few days ago to get pictures of my favorite new items in my shop, in particular the most awesome bin! I also have gotten some great new smalls, and a wonderful cabinet FULL of drawers. I have also been really busy getting the garage open for all of my wonderful customers. Now we have an extra 700 square feet for shopping! There are so many things that deserve a place in the shop, but I am just running out of room. Now they have found a home in the garage, an equally fantastic space.

I have quite a few projects I want to get done this week. For starters, I would like to finish just one of my flour sack slip covers. I would also love to get this cute little green nightstand glued, nailed, and cleaned up. It is going to be one of my favorites when it is done! I'll keep you posted on how that little piece is coming.

Make Sure to check out our facebook page for all of the new pictures of the shop, there are lots!
